Polihale State Park
Several miles to the West of the Kekaha town is Polihale Beach and Polihale State Park where you can walk along the shore for a view of the South End of the Na Pali Cliffs.

The Waimea Canyon - Koke'e State Park
Travel up the Waimea Canyon to Koke'e State Park and visit Koke'e Natural History Museum where you will find a display of flora, fauna, natural history of the area and collections of shells and Hawaiian artifacts. If you like to hike or just take a short stroll, this area offers numerous hiking trails and scenic viewpoints where you will encounter some of the most breathtaking scenery in Hawaii.

Kauai Farmer's Market
The West Side farmer's market is held at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center each Saturday at 9 am. Just a short walk from many of our Kekaha vacation rentals, you'll find a variety of locally-grown produce, fruit and tropical flowers. For more information, visit the Kauai Farmer's Markets website.
West Side Craft Fair
Every Saturday and Sunday in Waimea Town there is a Craft Fair with live music and local food.
Bird-Watching
Birding opportunities are excellent on Kauai's West Side; the following locations are just minutes from Kekaha. For high elevation endemic species visit the Kokee State Park and Alakai Swamp. For low-land/wet-land species, shorebirds and scrub-land species visit the Kawaieleele Sand-mine Bird Sanctuary. Here are a few of the species we've encountered: Hawaiian Stilt, Black-Crowned Night Heron, Wandering Tatler, Cattle Egret, Hawaiian Coot, Hawaiian Gallinule, Hawaiian Duck, Hawaiian Owl, Ring-Necked Pheasant, Northern Mockingbird, Northern Cardinal, Chestnut Mannikin, Japanese White-Eye, Common Myna and the White-Rumped Shama.
